Vibrant Colors for Your Bridesmaids
TREND ALERT!
We are starting to see a trend of more and more brides letting their bridesmaids choose their own style and COLOR for their bridesmaid dresses! The trend is largely based on the fact that more and more brides want their bridesmaid’s style to shine at their wedding. Of course, this trend is for the non-traditional bride and you now have to think about glamming up those dresses with accessories!
You can choose your accessories eco-style from necklaces to shoes…just be sure to point your bridesmaids in the right direction or give them a hint with a gift from any one the designers you see here! We are just focusing on necklaces today as we love to see big and vibrant ones on bridesmaids in photos!

Real Wedding – Lovely Green Style
As we watch the Gulf be enveloped by oil and we wait anxiously for the clean up process – we thank God for our protected waters. One such protected body of water is the Chesapeake Bay. Just so happens that the Chesapeake Bay Foundation has an actual venue for rent on the bay for events called the Phillip Merrill Center.
“We used all recycled paper for our printed goods and I made them
myself at home, we opted not to hand out a favor (wasted material) and
made a donation to greyhound rescue instead, all of the food was
locally sourced and seasonal, the centerpieces were made of green
curly willow which can be reused by the florist and/or planted and it
will take root, provided a bus for guests so that we could minimize
the amount of car travel, used ‘used’ glass cylinders that were
purchased from another wedding, and then in turn sold them to another
bride for her wedding, Event was held during brighter hours and
candlelight was used to minimize the amount of electrical light
needed. And of course, the Merrill Center is amazingly green (platinum
certified) and the money we paid for the facility goes
towards saving the bay!”

Backyard Garden Party
Since the wedding is a destination wedding, Jed and I decided to keep the rehearsal dinner simple and invite all of the guest that are able to attend the wedding. We are going to transform these cottages where we are spending the week into a backyard garden party.

We found a local event rental store and ordered tables, chairs, and 2 heaters. I am still on the lookout for a few fun lights to string up for once the sun sets. I like the lights and the laid back feel here.
We already have 2 tents to go over the tables if we need them. Now, I just need to find some fun table clothes. I am in search of ones that I can keep and use in the future on my dinning room table, when I eventually get one :) I love how they used potted plants, candles, and mason jars with split peas to decorate the tables. It is so simple, yet looks so pretty.
