I won’t know what kind of flowers we’ll be using until the day before the wedding. I am going to get all of our flowers from the Farmer’s Market, and since I’m not concerned about color, we’ll have whatever is in season and looks prettiest that day!
I am actually planning to use artificial flower bouquets from Etsy so that I can support those talented artists and buy handmade. I think they are just as beautiful as real flowers, and many are made from recycled fabrics and materials!
My mom has taken over the flowers, I knew she would because she is great at it! She is going to grow alot of the flowers (she has a really green thumb) and I think she is planning on using succulents and whatever else she can grow.
I can’t imagine my June 2010 wedding without pretty blush pink peonies. It’s the thing I’m most looking forward to hugging close to me besides my lovely husband to be!
xo
Congratulations! I just wore my DK Designs Flower tonight!
Sounds wonderful! Will you send us photos??
I haven’t decided flowers yet, but know I will include Moonglo carnations somewhere, soft, soft pale yellow~in memory of my son…
I haven’t decided on what type of flowers we are going to use yet. They will be white and bought from our local flower mart.
You know, I just adore tulips. Seeing as they aren’t very native and in season when I’ll be walking down the aisle in September, I’m going with whatever is locally grown and lovely at our Farmers Market… maybe even just simple amber mums to show off Autumn.
I’m not sure of the exact flower or flowers i want for my July wedding but I do know they will be pink!
I have a complete black and white theme for the clothing…but the colour is in our flowers. Green and white to be exact; roses, carnations, hydrangeas, and fuji mums and kermit mums. I am excited to see the textures & colours together. My mother is growing succulents too! Chicks and hens for the tables.
OK – just be sure you find out where you mums are coming from as most come from South America – which is not the most eco-friendlt…see if your florist can find something local!
Sounds wonderful!!!
We’re just starting to plan our wedding, so I’m not sure on the flowers. However, one that I know I’ll be using is a glass rose that my mother carried in her bouquet when she got married.
That sounds so beautiful – would love to see photos!
I am going to use Lilas from the trees of my Grandpa’s farm. I have an emotional attachment to lilacs because my grandpa and I used to go for long walks on his property, pick wild lilacs and talk about life.
I’ll be going to the local flower farm that only sells what they grow on the property. I’m also growing herbs, red geraniums and red poppies for the centerpieces.
I am planning to use handmade fabric flowers, crepe paper and tissue flowers and fresh Dahlias. I am having a blast making my faux flowers and clay is ohhhh so tempting!
We are having a destination wedding with very few people! I am not pre-ordering flowers but I plan to harvest some wild bougainvillea on our wedding day morning hike. The flowers are native on the island and grow in immense bushes on the hillside! I think it’ll be a great pop to the white and khaki outfits. And what a great addition to have a flower hair piece
We are planning on doing planted hydrangeas, I hate the thought of flowers being thrown away. Would love to wear the clay flowers.
Major good information to know! I’d not guessed that simple Mums are imported like that! Proves, you have to read everything!
Cheers!
