Scholarships for the Eco-Beautiful Weddings Tour
We have had some great feedback and excitement for the Eco-Beautiful Weddings Tour! This is a long post – so get ready and get registered!
Just to clarify what the seminars are all about:
Educate: We really want all weddings to be truly sustainable and stylish! You will learn how to go green with your business and weddings. Each city’s seminar will be tailored to the actual attendees. Since I want to be able to focus on each individual business – I have decided to reduce the number attendees of each seminar to a max of 15. This is down from 25 as we will be working on how each individual business can market themselves more effectively, be sustainable and learn all about why brides and grooms love green companies!
Insight: Each seminar has a special guest that will help give you additional insight as to how to grow your business and be part of the greater good. All businesses should be sustainable, properly managed and should constantly be looking for ways to better themselves through education, collaboration and philanthropy.
Photoshoots: This is your chance to be in Eco-Beautiful Weddings – either the magazine or the blog! All attendees will have a listing in the back of my 3rd book Eco-Beautiful Weddings which will be the “bible” of all vendors we can find that are green and sustainable in the United States and Canada. Some of the photoshoots will be in the magazine and some will be in my book! You do not want to miss this opportunity!
Here are the dates again – with special guests and the actual photoshoot projects that we will hopefully be working on!
New York City – April 13, 2010:
Special Guest: Emily Anderson – From Eco-Chic Weddings – She will give great insight into the inner workings of the green side of the wedding industry!
Photoshoot: Rooftop + Possible Subway Fashion Shoot
Special Guests: Bernadette Coveney Smith of 14 Stories – She will help wedding vendors understand the rights and wrongs of reaching out to the LGBT for gay weddings. If you are in the Washington, DC area or Mexico City – this is one of the seminars you should be flying too since gay weddings were just recently legalized! Emily Anderson will also be at this seminar (SEE ABOVE in the NYC section of what she will talk about!)
Photoshoot:Possible Tablescape + Stationery
This is an exclusive seminar for wedding professionals all over Canada….I am spilling the beans here – but this photoshoot will be all about how to go green in Toronto for the Eco-Beautiful Weddings Green City Wedding Guide! I will only be in Canada once this year and therefore – wedding professionals from all over Canada can be included in my book as well. I will let additional attendees come if there is sincere interest in being in the book and you are wanting to really embrace greening weddings all over Canada! We might have an exclusive guest appearance – but I must have at least 10 attendees before I can pursue this opportunity.
Special Guest: Our very own Managing Editor Michelle Slaughter from HerPresign – She will give you special insight on how to use marketing and public relations for your wedding business!
Photoshoot: This is an exclusive photoshoot for a brand new product that we will be revealing in the 3rd issue. Your products and services can take a major role in the promotion of this particular photoshoot!
Special Guest: Marta Segal Block from OneWed – She will give you a special guide to how to use One Wed – one of the largest online wedding resources for brides!
Photoshoot: Exclusive photoshoot for my book – unable to reveal at this time.
Special Guests: Emily Ley from Emily Ley Paper + Lauren Grove from the Every Last Detail Blog – Two great resources for green entrepreneurs that want to hear about what it takes to take the plunge and go green with your business and write from the heart with your blogs!

Special Guest: Jennifer Stambolsky from Earthly Affair – The owner of one of the fastest growing eco-friendly wedding stationery companies and voted among the best wedding blogs by Brides Magazine and BrideTide.com! A special Q & A with Jennifer!
Photoshoot: Stationery + beauty products!
Special Guests: Tracy DiNunzio from Recycled Bride & our Green-Ass Duo – Dana LaRue + Hunter Stiebel of the Broke-Ass Bride – Just getting to meet these people should be reason enough to come! They will touch on what goes on behind the scenes of their blogs!
Photoshoot: Green Decor + Fashion
Special Guest: Phyllis Cheung of the My Wedding Concierge – Phyllis will help give some insight about green technology and learn about their amazing app!
Photoshoot: Green Technology + Accessories + Tablscape
Special Guests: Carolyn Gerin of the Anti-Bride & Destination I Do Magazine + Stacy Yamaoka of Marry Me Live – Carolyn, a wildly popular author and Senior Editor at Destination I Do will give some great insight into what editors are looking for with submissions and why being on the cutting edge is so green! Stacy will showcase their amazing new service and we will possibly go live with parts of the photoshoot!!!
Photoshoot: So many ideas – but all of them are guaranteed to be eye candy! NOT to be missed – hey you might even make it into 2 magazines! Ya never know!
On this note – we are opening up each seminar to give away one scholarship! Why is this so important? Again – the underlying principle is that Eco-Beautiful Weddings is all about changing the way couples go about their wedding planning process. We want all weddings to have at least one element that is eco-friendly. It is really not that hard! Making a difference is what we are all about!
So – in order to get that scholarship – you have until Thursday afternoon to let me know why you want to come and how you want to make changes in your business! Write me a comment below to let me know!
Comments closed…everyone below is getting a scholarship! Thanks!

I would LOVE to attend this event. Our company is only just now learning a bit about being green. After hosting Backstage Bridal and offering some green elements and having green education, we’ve developed a strong desire to be a green company in the way we operate our business and offer green options for our clients. The problem is we are not sure where to being. This education would be a tremendous help is getting our company on the right path to green living and business operations. Thanks for considering!

I would love the opportunity to do this! We are starting to implement more eco-friendly ideas into our business {including a new “green” album company that we will be offering very soon!} but I would love to learn more about what we can do as a business. We try and live our everyday lives as best as we can by recycling and making less waste for the world in general, but I’m sure there is more we could learn. I love that being eco-friendly is becoming such a great trend in weddings. I just really hope that it is here to stay and translates into our everyday lives.

I’m very excited to find out about this scholarship opportunity Savannah, GA is such a perfect spot for this event. Late last year I started making the move to offer more eco free choices, as a designer and printer I have control over the supplies I purchase. I have changed my stock paper to a tree-free cotton based paper and my press is operated by a foot operated treadle. I know that there are a lot more things I can do and I think this is the perfect atmosphere to learn in. Not some huge event with 100’s of people where you get lost in the crowd.

This type of seminar is desperately needed in a place like Cincinnati, OH. I currently work part time for an event center and the amount of waste created during the span of one wedding is atrocious-enough for me to want to break out and start my own green event planning business. While still in the very beginning stages, this seminar would be a great opportunity to get advice, gain knowledge, new contacts and most importantly, inspiration! I just recently helped my sister plan her wedding and ran into a lot of hurdles promoting and convincing her of the green options, since they were either more expensive or seemingly less traditional. It would be great to gain some insight about how to market a green wedding or event! Thanks so much for this opportunity! Eco-beautiful is always inspiring and fresh!
