I’ll be wearing my grandmother’s heirloom brooch…not only is it vintage (and therefor recycled), but it’s made of glass, which means that it wasn’t mined from the earth. As I’m sure you know, mining can be very harmful for the environment. It’s also gorgeous, which is a definite plus.
My something old was my mother’s pearls. I also had my grandma’s handkerchief and my mother in law gave me my husband’s Nani’s handkerchief too. I tucked them in my garter.
My something -eco friendly- old, would be my grandmother’s lace, we will re do some parts of her dress, it would be beautiful and also we are doing our invites in recycle paper.
An opal butterfly broach given to me by my mum, which was given to her by her mother in law. I never met my grandmother but like to think she will be with me on the day.
I’ve been sewing together my grandmothers [mom's side] vintage pearl and cloth crown with my other grandmother’s lace trimmed veil. So special having both of them with me when I say ‘I do’.
My something old is one of my grandaddy’s handkerchiefs. They remind me so much of him so not only is it my “something old” it’s also a way to feel like he is with me on my wedding day.
My grandmother always carried handkerchiefs and in her honor I’m carrying one of hers with me. Also in her honor we are providing them for our guests to use during the ceremony and have as a small keepsake.

A old vintage blue garter!
My something old is my great-grandmother’s locket that is going on my garter. My mother wore it and her mother before that!
My grandmother wore these adorable little white gloves. I will wear the same ones when I say I do.

I will be wearing hand-me-down “old” jewelry from my grandmother. (And probably some borrowed jewelry from my mom too.) =)
My something blue is one of my grandmother’s handkerchiefs. I’m so glad my mother kept them. They’re so much better than paper tissues!

Hoping to have my grandmother actually make my cake from scratch the day before the wedding! She really wants to do it!
We plan on harvesting all our strawberries from my Aunt’t garden and making jam as favors for our 40 guests!
