The $50,000 Green Wedding Giveaway in DC

Virdina Milfort & Kevin Gibbs won the 2nd Annual $50,000 Green Wedding Giveaway from the Washington, DC Green Wedding Consortium last night at the holiday party!

Look at how cute they are!!!!

We had such a fantastic time at the Decatur House Museum with many thanks to Square One Organic Vodka who sponsored the event along with Eco-Bar.  Other sponsors include Cakes by Design (who provided organic desserts) and Mallowdrama (who provided vegan cupcakes).  Ampa Events provided the swanky lounge furniture, bar and LED uplighting.  Jessica Pi provided videography; DC Rentals provided tables, glassware and table top items; Elegance & Simplicity, Inc. provided decor; Weddzilla provided ice, water and favors, Sugar Plum provided the stage; Mydeejay.com provided the music.  Of course, again, we love Andrea for taking these amazing photos…more coming!!!  Andrea Jacobson of The Observatory & Ralph Alswang are the official photographers for their wedding!

Gearing up!

We are so excited about the Washington DC Green Wedding Consortium‘s party tomorrow – we are revealing the cover of the magazine!  We have been plugging away at the layout of the magazine and we are so excited, it is quite difficult to contain ourselves!  Tomorrow, we will not only reveal the cover of the magazine, but also announce the winners of the $50,000 Green Wedding Giveaway from the Washington, DC Green Wedding Consortium.  Weddzilla is our blog partner for this amazing contest and both of us will be showing you all the green details about the planning process of the lucky couple.  This is sure to be the best holiday present ever for this lucky couple!  We had a really tough time deciding who to choose.  We have gifts for all the contestants and the members of the Consortium are offering heavy discounts to the finalists.  I am hoping all the finalists know they were certainly worthy of this amazing prize.  As the director of the DC Green Wedding Consortium, I am truly blessed to be the one to announce it tomorrow.  I will be tweeting live from the Decatur House Museum (@GreenWed) – so be sure to follow me and the folks over at Weddzilla (@Weddzilla).

Now on to some blog love – I am so excited about the places we have been popping up all over the internet.  A fantastic post by Jennifer over at Earth Friendly Weddings (who also has her amazing eco-friendly invitation store called Earthly Affair).  She was so sweet in her blog post and also has posted our badge on hers – aahhh how we heart you Jennifer!

Then, another brand new blog relaunched this weekend called “Every Last Detail” by Lauren Grove (Formally The Design Grove).  She has placed us in her resources section and did a wonderful post about us!  Thanks Lauren (love the new look of the blog babe).
