Brides in Bloom
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
- Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
Weddings and flowers go together like chocolate and cake! Flowers symbolize beauty (isn’t every bride a stunner?) and, since a woman almost always carries a bouquet down the aisle, are inexorably linked to brides.
Flowers fresh from the garden are lovely, but lasting details inspired by them are marvelous! A wedding gown awash in blooms and fluttering petals paired with a small or keepsake bouquet never fails to take our breath away.

Boutonnières Re-Booted
To be divine, boutonnières don’t need flowers!
With a little creativity, your groomsmen can sport some serious lapel candy as unique as your wedding. When it comes to boutonnière alternatives, the sky is the limit. Everything from playing cards, buttons, pinwheels and shells can be incorporated into an environmentally friendly, wear-again gift for the guys.
Perfect for a Spring or Summer wedding, these clever, flowerless boutonnières give traditional adornments a run for their money!

Berry Bridal Bouquets
Spring is that glorious time of year when flowers start blooming and seasonal fruits begin to appear at the market! Take your cues for a late spring or early summer bouquet from what you see on visits to your local farm stand. Berries have been catching our eyes lately, not only because they are delicious, but also because they provide a great inspirational palette.
To stay green, check to see what flowers are chemical free and seasonal, and, when possible, buy local!

Pretty in Purple
Purple has symbolized royalty since antiquity, when the color was so expensive it was only worn by nobility and the élites. Today, of course, you don’t need an HRH before your name in order to afford a pretty shade of plum.
We don’t know if it’s because there actually is a royal wedding just around the corner or just a mutual en masse love for violet hues, but we’ve been seeing lots of purple weddings. Either way, we’re glad to see lovely amethyst shades incorporated in such eco-fabulous ways!

Japanese Garden Style
There’s no denying kimono are breathtaking. The colors, luxurious drape of the fabric, and design make it a garment that’s also a work of art. Heavily brocaded and often very colorful, bridal Kimono, called Uchikake, are some of the most beautiful, and provide fantastic inspiration!
We’re already imagining Kimono elements incorporated into a cherry blossom wedding, though the color and detail would be fantastic in almost any setting! Upcycled vintage Kimono fabric lends the subtle drama of a Japanese garden to shoes, bridal gowns and hair flowers while also being eco-friendly.
