Etsy Love!

If you hadn’t heard, Etsy is one of the most fantastic resources for the Eco-Beautiful bride.  Celebrating all things creative and crafty, the site features artisans from all over the U.S. who create lovely items for weddings like this adorable sign (by Etsy seller RomanticPlanet) to announce your grand entrance!

These invitations from Etsy seller avie would be perfect for a Mexican-themed wedding. They are designed based on the Mexican “papel picado” art form, which involves cutting paper into elaborate designs! 

 

How adorable are these pinwheels?!? Etsy shop Rule42 offers these handmade cuties in custom colors and patterns. Use them in lieu of bouquets for your girls (you can get smaller versions for boutonnieres and corsages!), to line your aisle for an outdoor ceremony, or in centerpieces. Love ‘em!

 

In addition to your decorative items for your wedding, Etsy is the place for unique accessories for brides too. This eco-gorgeous headpiece from one of our fave designers, LoBoheme, is just one of them!

BHLDN Mood Boards

 

 

Ahhh – BHLDN – we just can’t get enough of thee!!!  They are adding a new section to their website on Monday to help you create Mood Boards to help simplify your wedding planning process.

Since we could not wait – here is a mini Mood Board from their products we have created here (all produced in Italy or the USA and yummy to look at!)

DIY Birdcage Veil – Glamorous, Gothic & Totally Eco

DIY is all the rage in weddings and, although its most often seen in decor and invites, it can be a fantastic adventure in personalized fashion too!

These photos were taken for a bridal glamour shoot by the creative Jen Shannon Photography team.  All of the items that are on the veil, minus the faux feathers, were re-purposed.  The veil was a pre-owned large bird cage veil that was cut down to a smaller size.  Even the clip-on flower was taken from an old dress and attached to the veil to create a Glam-Goth wedding veil to match the bride’s  edgy gown.  This is custom eco design at it’s finest!!!

Where do you score pre-loved chic embellishments and findings like these?  Try your local second hand store, grandmother’s dusty closet and online resale shops, like Ebay.  You’ll be amazed how easy it is to sew, hot glue and pin together a custom veil or hairpiece that’s the perfect match to your personality.
