Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue (And Eco-Friendly Too!)
It’s tradition. A bride MUST have your something old, new, borrowed and blue – but how do you keep it eco-friendly? I’m here to provide you with some eco-chic ideas for all these items!

Something Old 30+ years ago, a ‘something old’ seemed simpler since so many brides would inherit their mother’s gown. Since this seems to be a thing of the past, we have found some alternatives for your something old and environmentally conscious:
- – Your grandmother’s veil she wore on her wedding day
- – A vintage ring
- – Antique or heirloom earrings or bracelet
- – A tiny vintage purse
- – Antique lace tied around your bouquet
Something New This seems like an easier piece of this traditional poem. For your wedding most everything is new to you. It doesn’t necessarily have to be new in the conventional sense, which makes the ability to be eco-chic that much easier:
– An eco-chic wedding gown from designer like The Cotton Bride or Claire Pettibone
- – Luxurious lingerie from designers like Eberjey
- – Shoes made out of environmentally conscious materials
- – Accessories like your jewelry manufactured in the US or made out of recycled materials

- Something Borrowed Once again the ability to be green comes easier with your something borrowed. Here are some creative ways to showcase your something borrowed:
– Mom’s pearl necklace
– Earrings your grandmother wore at her wedding
– Aunt’s veil or headpiece
– Sister’s wedding shoes
– A wrap from your future mother-in-law
Something Blue Your something blue can be incorporated into multiple accepts of your wedding from what you wear to your favors, here are a few ideas for you:
– An blue, environmentally friendly garter from The Garter Girl
– Favors made from recycled papers
– Incorporating a vintage blue sash to your gown
Cheers!

{Refresh & Reuse} Go Eco with Your Bridal Jewelry!
With the ‘Going Green’ movement in high gear, it has become easier to be environmentally conscious even in the smallest ways – like with your jewelry. Mountains of the Moon is a green bride’s go-to for everyday sustainable & stylish items as well as eco-friendly bridal jewelry. Each sustainable necklace is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted by designer Melissa Baswell. Ribbons, beads and fabrics reclaimed from vintage and resale shops, left over from our own sewing production, or otherwise landfill-bound, are reworked into chic, stunning pieces of wearable art.
