Real Wedding: Jenny + Zack

As you are taking a quick break from cyber shopping today, we have an adorable wedding to share with you!  Meet Jenny and Zack, whose wedding was filled with creativity, sustainability, and local flair!  Held in an Atlanta garden, this couple kept a low carbon footprint by selecting vendors all within a three mile radius of the venue.

The couple’s colorful day featured programs printed from recycled cardboard boxes and also recyclable plates, utensils, and cups were used for the reception.  We loved the gigantic flowers carried by the bridesmaids, which were made from recycled paper and created and printed by the bride and her dad.

Jenny also enlisted the help of friends and family to create the lovely lanterns that added such vibrant color to the decor.  To jump start their reception, Jenny, Zack, and their bridal party led their guests in lantern parade!  What a way to kick off a party!

From the lantern love to the cupcake display and everything in between, Jenny and Zack’s wedding was truly a unique and special day.

  1. Unconventional is the word for everything, from the bride’s make up to the flowers or whatever the bridesmaids hold. Congrats!

  2. Wow!!! I LOVE those acorns, what a pretty, sweet idea!!

  3. I love it when a bride and groom make a wedding that is truly their own – in this case Jenny and Zack made their day so personal, you can’t help but see the love. Great photography too – I love the Chinese lantern balls.

Not only are the mingling of various hues of pink and purple mesmerizing, the mixture of past and present in the decor is a lovely way to express how marriage celebrates the road to the union and the excitement of the ceremony before going forward into a new life. Also enjoyed the nice mixture of ethnicity in the wedding party. Nicely done!

That last comment was a mistake (clicked the wrong paragraph in my diary of wedding research.) Wanted to say I loved the way the natural colors of the park really popped against the bright primary colors of the decorations. What was most impressive was that the bridesmaids were apparently allowed to choose dress styles that were most flattering to their various body shapes–most brides make their wedding party wear cookie cutter dresses. A toast to the bride for her class and consideration!
