The Green Side of Engage!
I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Engage!12 conference in West Palm Springs earlier this week and our team is ready to implement a lot of what I learned at the conference. The conference is all about the luxury side of the wedding industry! We are in the business of providing luxury eco-wedding details and we are excited about what we are doing! We are still the only eco-friendly wedding magazine in the world that focuses on weddings all over the world! That is really hard to say in an industry packed with a lot of people searching for new and amazing ideas.
We are a bridal magazine - both online and in print and a blog. We are also a destination weddings magazine as well as a hyper-niche local magazine for those that read it around the world - especially when we feature your city in our Green City Wedding Guide! We are also full of real weddings from all over the world and we feature beautiful and luxurious wedding ideas that are still easy on the environment!
I was pretty much the only company that really focuses on being eco-friendly in the luxury wedding market at the conference. Not a lonely place - but an awesome place to be in out of 250 conference attendees! I was the green side of Engage! People who had never met me came up to me and knew me from Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook. I was called the “sustainable chic” and “green girl” at least 15 times in a matter of 4 days. Made me giddy! Nothing could have made me happier!
I was probably the only one that asked the staff at The Breakers if there was a place to recycle my bottles of water and then I found a secret garden right on the property where they grow their own herbs and tomatoes! I was floored. So happy.
I was probably the only one that asked the staff about the local fare used in the catering menu - I was fascinated. This amazing event was sustainable in many ways and this hotel had many green initiatives.
This is a perfect example of eco decor! Gorgeous escort lapel or hair pins in the shape of flowers on painted manzanita branches. As a florist - I know the designer can reuse these branches over and over again and the guests can reuse the escort lapels for fun in the future! Not something that any of us will throw away soon. Inventive, adorable and beautiful all at the same time! Right up our Eco-Beautiful alley!

Another fabulous aspect at Engage was the stationery! Items that can be reused again in the office and handpainted details from our favorite - Momental Designs!
I really could go on and on about the swag we got at the conference! From the bag made by Reisenthel - an awesome green company (shown 1st above) - to the take away desktop items we received throughout the conference. The gals at Gifts for the Good Life went all out to make sure items were reusable in many ways, fun, creative, recyclable and most items handmade and made in the USA!
Most of all - Engage is almost always about celebrating the creativity in all of us as wedding professionals. Working on finding the best ways to be creative to bring you, as brides and grooms, the best possible customer service and quality content, services and products for you as you gear up to walk down the aisle. I can truly say that I am part of the best industry on earth - my job is to help you be creative and Eco-Beautiful on a daily basis! How awesome is that?
A special thank you to these two wonderful ladies! Rebecca and Kathy for being the amazing and talented “team force” behind Engage conferences. They follow all of the 250 attendees throughout the years and always know exactly what it is you are doing. Sweet as can be and dizzying intellects…these are two ladies that are legends and that I feel blessed to know and call friends.
