Lighting the Night

Candles are one of the most eco-friendly ways to add light to your indoor or outdoor wedding décor. Candles are long lasting and only become more beautiful as the night progresses.

The soft glow of candles can light your aisle, create a path to the reception, and add either stand alone or enhance your centerpieces. And the pics of a bride enveloped in a sea of candles…love!

Get creative and collect mason jars or other unique containers (be sure they are heat resistant!) to use as candle holders. Adding antique laces or other sheer fabrics to plain glass containers are an easy and beautiful DIY project too.

The more the merrier…an abundance of candles is nothing short of soft, warm, and romantic!

Eco Invites by Anticipate Invitations

Unique details are what make an Eco-Beautiful Wedding memorable, and an ideal place to start is with your invites.

Creative and unique invitations ensure that your wedding stands out from the start, and set the tone for the theme of your day. Planning a natural or rustic chic themed wedding? Then your guests will absolutely love your invitations that are made from actual wood!

Pennsylvania-based stationery designer Anticipate Invitations created this really beautiful invitation suite from oak wood veneer. The text and design details are embossed on the wood, so there are no chemical inks involved. The colors and the design…gorg!

Believe it or not, it actually takes more wood to create a piece of paper, as opposed to using the actual wood, so your pretty wood invites are even more eco. In addition to these wood veneer invites, Anticipate Invitations offers so many other custom, eco-friendly options—you have to take a peek!

Thanks to Sandy, we are in a bit of a rainy mood today, and it’s all about the essentials! And when it comes to rain, umbrellas generally top the must-have list. Of course for us, umbrellas have to be Eco-Beautiful, so Bella Umbrella would be the ideal go to! This company specializes in vintage and restored umbrellas and parasols that you can rent for a rainy wedding day. Ruffles, lace, color…there’s an option for every bride’s style. Even if it’s bright and sunny, pretty parasols and umbrellas from Bella are fun accessories for pics! You can also use these pretty umbrellas for décor too.

So if a few rain drops invite themselves to your wedding day, don’t fret! A vintage umbrella in hand will keep you dry, and classically Eco-Beautiful!

Bridal Fashion Week: Rivini Spring 2013

We’re sharing more Spring 2013 bridal fashion today, this time from the Rivini runway!

The Rivini Spring 2013 collection featured elegant and classic silhouettes, yet was updated with lots of texture. The new collection delivers lots of organza, soft and feminine embellishments, and certainly plenty of “floweyness” for all of those twirls on the dance floor. These dresses were fun, but definitely a fit for the Eco-Beautiful bride who seeks a sophisticated look.

Designer Rita Vinieres, who is behind the Rivini brand, produces her gowns in Canada, which we love!

Signs, Signs Everywhere

Guaranteed you (and your hostesses) will speak to your guests a lot on your wedding day, but signage can provide you with a little help! Signs are a really fun and creative way to communicate with your guests, giving them guidance on everything from where to sit during the ceremony, where to find the photo booth, and what’s yummy on the menu for dinner. Signs are also great décor, so they serve two purposes.

To keep your signage eco-friendly, find handmade ones in online marketplaces such as Etsy or create your own using recycled wood, fabrics, or other materials. We love the idea of using the chalkboard too—you’ll use less paper and have something useful at home after the wedding!

Bridal Fashion Week: The Ines DiSanto Spring 2013 Collection

More Bridal Fashion Week goodness caught by the Eco-Beautiful stylecam! These stunning gowns hit the runway of the Ines DiSanto Spring 2013 show this past weekend. Ines DiSanto’s gowns are quintessential bridal—feminine, romantic, and glamorous. Crafted nearby in Canada, Ines DiSanto’s designs are made from some of the most beautiful silks and fabrics, and the construction is always impeccable. With as much focus on the back of the gown as the front, these gowns are detailed with luxe additions such as lace and beading. We’re still swooning over that sparkly bodice!
