An Attitude of Gratitude
When we think about “being” green, our thoughts often immediately focus on organic products that are not harmful to the environment, recycling,
things along those lines. While these elements are certainly a significant part of the green movement, the principle of graciousness is also fundamental to
living a true green lifestyle. Weddings are the perfect opportunity to practice the art of gratitude and to give
thanks.
Besides being incredible wedding and event planners, Nick and Aleah Valley of Valley and Co. are constantly seeking ways to help couples
to make their wedding guests and loved ones feel special and appreciated. Through little details such as preparing homemade treats, you can show love to
those who come from near and far to honor your wedding day.
If you are ready to get hands-on and create a celebration filled with love, as well as local and seasonal elements, get with Nick and Aleah in their feature, “Eco-Beautiful Fall Tips” on page 30 of the new issue!

The Etsy Love Challenge goes Retro-Modern!
How could you not love the fun of the 60’s, especially in California? The mood was casual, the colors were bright and the patterns were psychedelic. And in LA, it was all about beach parties, Jackie O-inspired sunglasses and oh yes…Gidget! While many of us only experienced Vintage Cali style from movies, television, and Mom’s closet, it’s certainly a hot theme to consider for your eco wedding!
Nothing pays homage to eco-friendliness like vintage and recycled goods. In this issue’s Etsy Love Challenge, groovy chicks Carly Cylinder of Flour LA and Stacey Paulas of Stacey Lynn Design bought the 60’s back with a colorful palette and great finds from Etsy sellers. With sweet and simple touches, your wedding décor and reception tablescapes will take your guests on a trip down memory lane, while still keeping it fresh and modern.
If you’re a West Coast bride, or just feelin’ the cool vibe, then you don’t want to miss the Etsy Love Challenge on page 34 of the Fall Issue!
So fun!

Great things come in small packages!
Some of the best gifts come in tiny packages and boxes. Decadent chocolates, herbal teas, engagement
rings…
Kids don’t exactly come in packages, but they are indeed small (at least for awhile!) and for those of us who are fortunate enough to have
them in our lives, they are certainly gifts. If you have children attending your wedding, creating a gift just forthem is a super cool way to make them feel special AND to provide a little distraction. We said they were special, but that doesn’t mean always quiet!
Our fave eco-kid expert Stephanie Frazier Grimm of Couture Parties returns in this issue with creative and simple DIY projects for yourlittle guests that will hold their attention while you say “I do” and during the reception while Mommy and Daddy get in a few spins on the dance floor!
Grab your box of craft supplies (or run to your local arts store) and let’s get creative!
