You’re back from the honeymoon, the thank you cards are mailed, and now there’s just one last task…figuring out what to do with the wedding gown that’s hanging on the back of the closet.

We get a lot of inquiries from brides who are seeking for eco-friendly and creative ways to reuse their beautiful gowns, and now we have another resource to add to the list—Old New Borrowed Redo!

This California-based company was created by sisters Jennifer and Lindsey (who happen to be identical twins!) and provides a unique option for brides, bridesmaids and even the gents in your bridal party to turn gowns and attire into priceless keepsakes.

Claire Pettibone Bridal Recap

Claire Pettibone Fall 2011 Collection Strapless and Backless gown with shrug

My absolute favorite dress designer of all time is Claire Pettibone. I know this is saying a lot - but it’s true. I am just enamored with her style and how feminine her gowns are without being over the top. She also manufactures all of her gowns in the US. We took a look at 5 of her new gowns at market this week. Above is a strapless and backless gown that comes with an optional shrug. So pretty, delicate and gorgeous with the art deco glam on the waistline!

Claire Pettibone Sleeveless Gown Feminine

Perfect for the petite bride out there - this gown has the uber-feminine style that we are used to with Claire’s delicate details. The straps are made with beautiful lace along with that gorgeous and subtle fabric flower found on the front and back of the dress.

Claire Pettibone gown with cap sleeves and ruffled mermaid style

When I saw this dress I nearly gasped. The gorgeous gown looked like it stepped out of the past and got an update from Claire. I just love the art deco stone detailing along the backside of the gown. Again, super feminine and ethereal all wrapped into loveliness!

Claire Pettibone Simple and traditional gown

Just elegant and lovely! This dress is perfect for any evening wedding. There is a touch of traditional style with Claire’s amazing flair with the cap sleeves and gorgeous lace trimmed detachable train. My favorite from this collection for sure!

Claire Pettibone Wedding Gown from Fall 2011 Collection

This layered strapless dress als0 comes with an optional shrug. Again, gorgeous and simple details all over the dress make for a stunning arrival down the aisle!

Stay tuned tomorrow for more from Bridal Market!

To Have and BHLDN

The most anticipated bridal launch of the year is finally unveiling on Monday! Anthropologie‘s perfect modern + vintage answer for the bride will now finally be available! BHLDN‘s website (say it like “Beholden” - pretty catchy!) goes live on Monday and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day???

Robin and I were invited to an exclusive sneak peak in Philadelphia this past Wednesday. Since the launch is on Monday - I thought I would have a BHLDN weekend for you on the blog! The above Pinwheel Tea Dress paired with that gorgeous headpiece (exclusively designed for BHLDN by James Coviello) was my absolute favorite of the entire collection. This short, flirty and divine wedding dress has 6-8 beautiful layers of petticoat that peek through at the bottom of the hemline. The open neckline gives that 50′s vintage feel and yes - IT HAS POCKETS! This dress goes for only $1400 ladies! Look at those details on that dress! Every single dress is handmade and with natural fabrics.

Both Robin and I were amazed by the shoes that were paired with the dress. An exclusive special run of these shoes will be available when the website goes live. If you want them - you better buy them immediately as you will never find them again! WHAT? Why? The designer Bettye Muller (who designed the shoes for BHLDN) was able to get that pretty vintage ribbon for the bows from a simple ribbon shop that ran out of the ribbon. There is no more of it to be found…period! HOW WONDERFUL! I still can’t get over the fact how much thought went into this. Every bride loves to be unique and beautiful and BHLDN has recognized this by provided scarcity of certain parts of their production. Be unique and raring to go when that site goes live!

Just when you thought it could not get any better than the dresses and the shoes and the headpieces…it just does! In true Anthro style, they will be providing not only shoes, accessories and dresses for ya…you will also be able to buy all sorts of decorations to accent that beautiful wedding of yours! YUM! They have tons of accessories and decor items that are made right here in the US. All of the dresses, shoes and accessories that are not made in the US are made with fair wage and fair labor practices in mind. Stay tuned tomorrow for a little write up about what to expect from the BHLDN website when it goes live and a few more of our favorite wedding gowns from the collection!
