Real Weddings: Heather + Steve
Steve and Heather didn’t want a huge, fancy to-do wedding. They threw most of the traditions, like not peeking at each other before the ceremony, to the wind, and just gathered the people they loved in a charming garden. Amid strung flags and lights, the couple stood within a semi-circle of their guests, who cheered while they exchanged vows and rings. From there, it was good food, laughter and Scottish dance lessons.
This was very much a wedding rich with only the things and customs and people that really meant something to the couple. Every piece of jewelry Heather wore had a significance and history—a connection to people of importance in her life, and almost everything used in the wedding was handmade or made by friends or family.
Many Eco-Beautiful Wedding wishes to Heather + Steve!

Thank you so much for sharing our story! In addition to our photographer (Jasmine Fitzwilliam), caterers (Not so Fast Food Truck) and venue (Water Conservation Garden), I’d also like to acknowledge others who made our wedding so beautiful and special. Our gorgeous centerpieces were made by Jan, my bouquet was made by Britta, and our papel picado flags were made with the help of Dave and his lasercutter. The vintage table linens were purchased at the Etsy store linenslaceandlattes, our music was provided by the House of Scotland Ceilidh band, and the ceilidh (dance) lessons were provided by Jeanne Moody.
Simply adorable!
I like the simplicity of the event. It doesn’t mean that it’s simple its not elegant and special anymore. It is how they celebrated their love for each other that matters most.
Beautiful photos!
