Eco Punk Glamour at the Met Gala
Fashion insiders and fans excitedly tuned in on Monday night to watch as celebrities hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual gala in New York. The gala celebrated the museum’s spring exhibition, “PUNK: Chaos to Couture”, and the attendees’ interpretation of the creative theme was something to behold.
Needless to say, there were certainly some interesting looks, but we were happy to find a smidge of eco-inspired fashion and even bridal inspiration among the sea of “chaotic and couture punk”:
Donna Karan is all about fair trade fashion, and there are few designers who know how to tastefully showcase a woman’s body like she does. Donna Karan dressed both Emmy Rossum and Hailee Steinfeld for the night.
Emmy Rossum’s Donna Karan gown was quintessential red carpet glamour. Definitely a look for the sexy bride! This would be a reception showstopper.
Hailee Steinfeld was sweet in this dress from Donna Karen Atelier. Love the gold beadwork on this one!
Headpiece designer Jennifer Behr also added some “green” to the Met red carpet with a birdcage veil worn by actress Jennifer Lawrence.
Wouldn’t this Voilette veil be the perfect punk accessory with a traditional white wedding gown?
