Gardenias!
What a gorgeous flower that gardenia is! Gardenias are in season from May through July (which is a bonus for reducing your wedding’s carbon footprint, depending on where you are) and surely to make an appearance at a number of summer weddings. Since gardenias are such a robust flower, they can do it all- bouquets, boutonnières, in the hair, you name it. The gardenia is beautiful all by her lonesome, or certainly mixed in with a few fresh floral friends!

Real Wedding: Eva and Trevor
Last summer, Eva and Trevor held their eco-friendly wedding and reception in New Hampshire at a tree farm. The naturally-beautiful setting (complete with a lovely pond) didn’t need much décor, so the couple accented the ceremony and reception with lush florals and a few vintage items, including family portraits.
The bride chose to wear her grandmother’s wedding dress for their traditional Jewish ceremony, and the couple added to the wedding’s vintage flair with assorted plates and napkins borrowed from each of their families.
If you remember our sneak peek of this wedding from yesterday, you’ll recall there were some gorgeous flowers featured. Well those were actually hand created for the wedding cake…by the bride! Eva is a professional cake designer (obviously an amazingly talented one!) and she opted to design the wedding cake for her day.

Mint to Be
Mint continues to paint this wedding season beautifully! Particularly pretty for a warm-weather wedding, a minted palette of yellow, coral, blues or nudes would be amazing!

The Pink has Peaked…it’s Spring!
We’re surrounded by cherry blossoms in DC, so we figured some cherry-blossom wedding inspiration was totally appropriate for today! The pretty pink of the cherry blossom is such a gorgeous palette for a spring wedding. Stand out in a vintage, blush-hued dress or shoes, hand your flower girls DIY wands flowing with blossoms and end the night with custom petal box favors.
