Our wedding is featuring a mostly “farm to table” menu with local free-range chicken, local seasonal produce, fruits and cheese… My favorite part is, as part of the dessert we’re having seasonal pies, which in Jersey means peach and blueberry, among others. Mmm (almost better than artisan popcorn!)!
Our wedding fare will feature all local and organic foods for our English Tea reception. My favorite would have to be the pasties we are getting from the English Tea Cup that are made locally and use all natural ingredients…so good! In addition, we will have biodegradable and eco-friendly bamboo tableware.
We buy fruit at the farmers market and blend and freeze it and make popsicles
Our caterer is a green caterer…they are 100% carbon neutral, purchase energy from a wind farm, and recycle all of their waste. All of the meat and veggies are locally sourced (and from heritage breeds), and the seafood is all sustainable.
Since our wedding is Halloween weekend, we’re considering forgoing wedding cake and instead picking apples at a local orchard and making caramel apples for our guests for dessert.
Kaitlin & Kylie’s flavored popcorn will be an excellent addition to either dessert or as a favor for out of town guests.
We are very lucky to have several farmer’s markets in the area - along with a grocer who sells local meat and cheese that is grown and processed just 30 miles away! For our wedding, we’re serving free-range chicken, fresh fruit punch, and handmade caramels from a local vendor. We’ll also explain these things to our guests so that they know about our passion.
My fiance and I are working with a vendor who does all foods from local and organic foods. We also have decided to reuse a lot of products that we are finding at garage sales! It’s been fun finding such great deals
I love no cook peanut butter fudge balls! YUM!
