Saying good-bye to traditional invitations doesn’t mean saying good-bye to beautiful invitations
I love paper. I love the smell. I love the feel. I love the richness of ink pressed into a beautiful stock. But, what I don’t love is waste.
We spent a lot of time creating our invitations, and making sure they were very personal–from the custom font designed by the gracious illustrator, Stina Gustafsson, to the personalized wording–and the thought of all that work being tossed in the bin made going paperless an easy choice for us.
It was very important to me that even though we were sending our invitations via email they felt like wedding invitations. Luckily, I came across Paperless Post. They allow you to send real looking invitations electronically. Unlike simple PDFs these invites are interactive. When your guests open the email a ‘real’ envelope, bearing the person’s name appears on the screen, then reverses, opens, and your invitation slides out.
The details are fantastic. You can see the texture of the paper, the raised or embossed bits, and the sheen of metallic foils.
If that doesn’t convince you, the cost will. You can send out 60 emailings for only 5 bucks. They even use ‘stamps’ and post markings on the front. They have loads of designs to pick from, but if, like us, you have a custom made invitation they will even upload your design for the reasonable fee of $60.00.
This was by far one of the easiest Eco decisions we made with absolutely no regrets.

Summer Strawberry Inspiration
Tis the season for strawberries!
One glance at a tempting bowl of these ruby red berries and we’re thinking one word: summer.
There’s a lot of flavor and cuteness in these little guys. If ever there was a fruit made to decorate a wedding cake, it’s a strawberry. Baked goods are not the only details that can benefit from the addition of sweet strawberries…what about a bridal bouquet, flavoring ice pops or as a centerpiece?
Overflowing out of farmers market crates everywhere from June through August,
being green never looked (or tasted) so good.
