Lauren + Mason’s Eco-Hawaiian Wedding

We love this colorful Kauai, Hawaii wedding submission from Joanna Tano Photography. The bride and the groom used everything locally and the wedding was at a private residence.

O my goodness how we love how the flower girls got to just sit during the ceremony and all of the girls got to where dresses they can wear again!

An amazing array of eco-beautiful options with plants as favors, biodegradable plates and utensils and local tropical plants and flowers as decor!

Congrats to Lauren + Mason!

Suited for Summer

Guys have it good when it comes to summer wedding wear.

Seersucker, cotton, linen, a simple oxford shirt paired with khakis…anything goes!
A warm weather groom’s gear can be eco-friendly, too. Your sweetie is sure to get more than one wear out of the fresh summer suit he wore while exchanging “I dos”!

Brides in Bloom

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
- Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

Weddings and flowers go together like chocolate and cake! Flowers symbolize beauty (isn’t every bride a stunner?) and, since a woman almost always carries a bouquet down the aisle, are inexorably linked to brides.

Flowers fresh from the garden are lovely, but lasting details inspired by them are marvelous! A wedding gown awash in blooms and fluttering petals paired with a small or keepsake bouquet never fails to take our breath away.

Bridal Market Recap

This season I only made it to the Piers for Bridal Market along with a few shows off campus. Robin was able to go to the Intercontinental hotel to talk with a few of our favorite eco-vendors. Above is why I love the Piers so much more! Nice and clean design and we got to see a lot more vendors in a shorter amount of time. Beautiful headpieces and veils from Erika Koesler (above) were a highlight for Robin and I.

Robin and I fell in love with Fancy. The dresses and bridal separates were divine along with a simply classic nod to traditional and timeless style.

Gorgeous gown from E. Lebron! E. Lebron is based in Atlanta and he cuts and designs right in Atlanta. This luscious dress with the trendy pink sash and amazing flutter detailing on the skirt is perfect for an eco-bride.

We surprised and excited to see that Nina (known for its great selection of shoes) is now doing accessories - which are mostly made in the US…including jewelry, sashes, veils and novelty items.

Ranjana Khan’s bridal accessories were definitely couture items that we would love to see on our eco-brides. Ranjana comes from couture design fashion houses and launched her accessory lines in 2008. She designs and has her own set of designers in India (where she is from) that she brings to Paris and NYC. A truly gifted designer with hands on style.

Classic, simple and elegant is what Renee Dumarr designs are all about. She cuts and designs right in New York City. Her dresses for bridesmaids, mother of the bride and guests are ready to wear and just gorgeous!

Stay tuned tomorrow for our final installment for Bridal Market with a recap of Anna Maier’s - Ulla Maija Fall 2011 Collection.
