  1. Jessica K says:

We’re buying local flower from our farmer’s market and doing a ton of DIY, including decorations and some food/drink.

  2. Ashley P says:

The center pieces are nests made from grape vines with egg shaped candy. The guest favors are recycled tin pails with a live local flowering plant.

  3. Caitlynn (soon to be) Graff says:

Going Eco-Friendly is my whole game plan. I am going to plan a HUGE garden and make all of the food myself (with help form mother mother-in-law and grandmothers!) and every thing that we will eat off of will be recycled. And for the lighting, candels and more candels!!
PS… I LOVE Caramel!!! So these will go to good use!!
    Thanks.
    Caitlynn

  4. Stephanie says:

we’re going eco friendly for our wedding by having paperless response cards. we’re telling all of our friends and family to call or email us instead. also, we’re using a LEED certified building for our reception!

these caramels will be perfect for our wedding too because we’re having a candy buffet! good luck to everyone entering!

  5. Cherie says:

We have no real flowers for our entire ceremony and reception!! The bouquets & boutonnière are all made of felt, as are all the centerpiece decorations!! Can’t wait to see how it will all turn out! :)

  6. We are doing a lot of up-cycling for our wedding decor and only purchasing items that we will continue to use after the wedding. We aren’t using fresh flowers and we are trying to cut down on paper use. Our venue is also green certified and recycles everything!

  7. KHbride says:

All of our cuisine is local and seasonal to support the community we’re getting married in.

  8. Jackie P says:

All of our food & flowers are locally produced/grown and at least 50% of my decor is recycled or recyclable: paper made from recycled material, and repurposed cans, bottles and jars.

  9. Krysten says:

I’m already married and unfortunately I now realize we could have much more sustainable practices. I am now helping my sister plan her wedding though and she is much more on top of things. She has eliminated a lot of unneccesary paper products. Her venue is certified in sustainable practices. She is not using fresh flowers and most of the decorations are things we already own or will continue to use as decorations.

  10. I’m re-purposing canning mason jars on my tables for flowers, etc. We are using a lot of furniture and things we already own. I’ve bought vintage buttons and am using them in my decor. Most everything that I’m doing is of a DIY nature and will be used for other events or house decoration after our wedding.

I’ve eliminated a lot of unnecessary things like programs and RSVP cards to save resources and money.

Oh,and our reception is going to be outdoors at a park.

  11. Sarah says:

I am currently engaged and also sell eco-friendly wedding favors for all of you looking for eco-friendly ideas! How about using River Rocks as place cards or escort cards all decoupaged with recycled paper! Or using Muslin hand stamped favor bags that double as place cards so your guests will have something to take home instead of throwing paper cards away. We have fun and eco friendly Bird Seed Toss Favor bags to use instead of rice too!

I will be having a natural wedding theme at my event, using a birds nest as a ring bearer pillow and using wishing stones as an alternative to a paper guest book! All really beautiful things and very eco friendly!

I am a HUGE fan of the Caramel Jar by the way and let me tell you she makes the best caramels in the entire UNIVERSE!! Good Luck to everyone!! :)

  12. I absolutely adore TCJ’s Fleur de Sel Caramels!

The plan is to not waste tons of money on things that will only be used one time and then discarded/wasted. It will be personal and comfortable. I will be searching for a beautiful vintage dress, and your “green things” section is of great inspiration to me! I will definitely be looking over the GREEN weddings favors/decor and totally love the wedding in a box idea. :)

    Thank you for this opportunity!

  13. Lauren B. says:

I’m going completely DIY with our reception. Local flowers I’m bunching myself, electronic RSVPs and cutting any paper materials that aren’t needed. I love these caramels, and mason jars are my favorite!

  14. Tiffany C says:

We are doing a lot of DIY projects with one-time use, or edible items for the reception. Most of our items with be cloth (napkins, etc), edible, or reusable so there isn’t as much waste. Our drinks will be in glasses and we will be storing them in bottles.

  15. We are repurposing tons of old furniture, jars, vases, books, etc for decorations instead of buying anything new.

  16. Irene Chen says:

Instead of using flowers, I will be using a lot of green plants, especially cactus as the centerpieces with yellow pebbles in wooden boxes that I will hammer together. I will use milk carton as the holders for my macarons. I am using a chunk of tree branch lying in my backyard to place my wedding cake. I will use recycle paper bags to put my favors (apples and cuties). Even the invitation will not be paper but will be print on a magnet so guests can re-use them :)

  17. We are using branches from my parents’ back yard for our centerpieces and are growing a “wall” of succulents to use as a backdrop for our ceremony.

We also rented plates, flatware and stemware to cut back on paper/plastic waste.

My favorite green project we are doing is our guestbook. I used t-shirts he and I got from college, trips we’ve taken together, runs we’ve done together and organizations we both belong to to make a t-shirt quilt and used white linen fabric I found at Goodwill for the borders. The guests will all sign along the borders. When we go camping, we will use it and be able to think of the people at our wedding and all the good times we’ve shared together. As a bonus, it means he won’t be wearing his stained, hole-in-the-armpit t-shirts anymore. :)

  18. cheryl says:

We’re going eco-friendly by having a non-floral wedding! Instead of flowers, I will have a felt bouquet for myself and my bridesmaids, and for centerpieces we are using vintage books, cameras, and little felt balls. :)

  19. Hilary Scott says:

We are doing hanging flowers/plants in used paint cans that we are refinishing with silver paint. No RSVP cards to save paper and resources. We are also roasting our own fair trade organic coffee beans and purchasing bulk loose organic teas which we will be tying up and giving away in recycled mini burlap bags as thank you gifts.

    ps. I love salted caramels!

  20. kristine s says:

If you do use flowers for the reception, arrange the date with a local local hospital for baby delivery department. Then designate someone to bring them to the hospital to the new mom’s in the delivery.

If you do use flowers for the reception, arrange the date with a local local hospital for baby delivery department. Then designate someone to bring them to the hospital to the new mom’s in the delivery. Another thing that we did, for favors was give everyone a luggage tag made from recycled plastic. These were ordered from the surfrider foundation and not only were they unique they went to an charity that was very important to us.

  22. Angela says:

We are having a very small reception and are trying to go as local as possible with our food.

  23. Supporting a caterer who sources all her food locally!

  24. As a photographer I never watermark my prints- it seems very wasteful & I like to keep Mother Earth happy :0)

  25. Natalie A. says:

We’re sourcing the vast majority of our food locally, making guest gift bags out of old sheets, and using eco friendly decorations. Our wedding rings and my engagement ring are all heirlooms as is the gown I will be wearing.

  26. We are reusing the custom linens from my bridesmaid’s wedding. They haven’t been reused in 4 years. We also used some scraps from when they were made to make a fabric bout for my son.
