Claire Pettibone Bridal Recap

Claire Pettibone Fall 2011 Collection Strapless and Backless gown with shrug

My absolute favorite dress designer of all time is Claire Pettibone. I know this is saying a lot - but it’s true. I am just enamored with her style and how feminine her gowns are without being over the top. She also manufactures all of her gowns in the US. We took a look at 5 of her new gowns at market this week. Above is a strapless and backless gown that comes with an optional shrug. So pretty, delicate and gorgeous with the art deco glam on the waistline!

Claire Pettibone Sleeveless Gown Feminine

Perfect for the petite bride out there - this gown has the uber-feminine style that we are used to with Claire’s delicate details. The straps are made with beautiful lace along with that gorgeous and subtle fabric flower found on the front and back of the dress.

Claire Pettibone gown with cap sleeves and ruffled mermaid style

When I saw this dress I nearly gasped. The gorgeous gown looked like it stepped out of the past and got an update from Claire. I just love the art deco stone detailing along the backside of the gown. Again, super feminine and ethereal all wrapped into loveliness!

Claire Pettibone Simple and traditional gown

Just elegant and lovely! This dress is perfect for any evening wedding. There is a touch of traditional style with Claire’s amazing flair with the cap sleeves and gorgeous lace trimmed detachable train. My favorite from this collection for sure!

Claire Pettibone Wedding Gown from Fall 2011 Collection

This layered strapless dress als0 comes with an optional shrug. Again, gorgeous and simple details all over the dress make for a stunning arrival down the aisle!

Stay tuned tomorrow for more from Bridal Market!

Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 Collection

Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 Pink Bridal Gown collection

Robin and I had the amazing privilege of seeing the 2012 Monique Lhuillier Collection during Bridal Market in New York City this past weekend. A highlight from our trip. We were not surprised to see that her new collection was full of beautiful new pink and honey tones after seeing Reese’s dress on the cover of People Magazine! As always, her gowns are ethereal and full of interesting and modern detailing. With her gowns being custom-made right here in the US - it thrilled us to see the decadent details mixed with hand-sewn eco-couture style!

Monique Lhuillier Royal Wedding Gown Style

Setting the trends and knowing what brides will want in the future has been a particular talent of Monique Lhuillier over the years and with this collection also comes the upcoming trend of brides wanting to look like royalty! With Prince William and Kate Middleton’s upcoming wedding, she is predicting the desire for fascinating royal and conservative style for the aisle.

Monique Lhuillier Short Dress Wedding Gown Style

Another trend that both Robin and I think is here to stay is the short wedding gown. Monique gives us a perfect nod to tradition with a little rock and roll short gown kick! Perfect for the non-conformist that still loves classic style!

Monique Lhuillier Corset Gown Style

We are still seeing a lot of corset style gowns. The one to the left keeps it subtle while the one on the left is uber sexy mixed in with classic layers in the skirt!

Monique Lhuillier Goddess and Traditional Style Dresses

I loved how she just wants to make gowns for every bride. Starting to the right here you have the beautiful, classic strapless gown in her new honey colored satin (with an amazing veil). In the middle you have the very glamorous and sexy corset style upper bodice with just an amazing amount of ruffles (YUM - LIKE CAKE!!!) Then the grecian goddess look which would look perfect on a curvy girl with the asymmetrical line with just a touch of peek-a-boo lace in the upper bodice! Click on the photo for a closer look!

Monique Lhuillier Signature Style

I thought that I would end with my favorite 3 pieces from the collection. On the left is a dress that I would have worn on my wedding day. Simple and elegant and a little bit of flow. Then I just love the middle dress for its grand style. Although I could do without the bow as I am not so much a “girly girl” per se, I love the amazing skirt that is just timeless! Then the last dress from my coverage today is that amazing dress to the right. THAT DRESS! I want to see one of my brides in that dress next year! It’s feminine, ethereal, timeless all rolled into some kind of amazing! These are just photos taken by my camera and there a couple of other dresses in the collection we will try to pop on the blog later this week in our coverage of bridal market from Monique Lhuillier’s team. Stay tuned for more!
