Haley + Joe’s Blueberry Wedding
Today’s fun-loving eco-wedding held in Chimacum, Washington is all about love for the earth as much as love gushing from the couple!
The wedding was held on Finn River Farm’s Property, where Haley and Joe have lived and worked on the land. Above you can see the flowers from a nearby farm (Solstice Farm) and fruit that was harvested right from the farm on their wedding day!
The pizza was baked right onsite by Dented Buoy Catering (with their mobile pizza oven - HELLO!) and the salmon was caught nearby by Haley’s stepfather and cooked and prepared by Joe’s Dad!
While all types of fruit and veggies are grown on Finn River Farm - blueberries was a central theme for their wedding.
Their sweet and short ceremony was held right amongst fruits and veggies on the farm. The lining of his vest and her dress were made from each of their mother’s wedding gowns!
Every aspect of the wedding kept their community and the earth in mind. Their blueberry cake was made from the farm’s ripe berries. Haley’s bouquet and table centerpieces were grown on the farm. And the list goes on and on.
Their anniversary is this weekend - so today could not be a better day to recap their wedding day!
Many Blessings to you Haley + Joe!
Thanks to Michele Hart Photography for submitting for this sweet wedding!

Chessboard Rehearsal Dinner Inspiration
If sleek and elegant is your wedding day theme, how about a rehearsal dinner that’s got playfully complimentary style? What are we talking about? Chess, of course! All those knights, kings, queens and pawns are great fun, and the game’s traditional color scheme means you can choose almost any other hue under the sun.
We love the idea of graphic black and white with bright pops of color, and, of course, as the bride, you’d need something fierce and sassy to wear. Complement all that with a simple but elevated seasonal menu along with locally grown flowers and your mom’s old chess set cunningly used to add some décor!

Giving thanks…
Your wedding is the perfect opportunity to show your appreciation for those you love. Why not be thankful to the environment at the same time by keeping it green and local?
Special, creative touches such as sending your guests home with locally-made wines or jams or using recycled paper for thank you notes are sweet gestures to show your guests love.
Guest contributors and eco-fabulous event planners Nick and Aleah Valley of Valley and Co. share more great ideas in “Green Etiquette” on page 39 of the Summer issue!
